Introduction to Java 5
Java enhances the strengths of C++ and removes its over orderly complex parts. The most intimidating part of Java to a programmer coming from older non object-based programming languages (like Pascal and Visual Basic) is the fact that Java is objected-oriented. Objects, not used in C, Visual Basic, and a host of scripting languages for the Net, can pose a threateningly complex way to organize problems.
